ROBINSON BAPTIST CHURCH: MEN'S PAGE

 The Man’s Charge

Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong. Do everything in love. 1 Cor 16:13-14

The Man’s Focus

Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight. So you will find favor and good repute In the sight of God and man. Prov 3:5-6

The Full Armor of God Ephians 6:13-18 (as the beginning of a morning prayer)

I pray Lord that you would help be to be strong in the strength of your might. Today and everyday I put on the whole armor of God that I may stand against the schemes of the evil one.

- I put on the belt of truthLet my yes be yes and my no be no (Matt 5:37)

- I put on the breastplate of righteousnessLet me be holy for You are holy (1 Pet 1:16) and let me not be spotted by this evil and perverse generation (Phil 2:15).

- I put on the shoes of the preparation of the Gospel of peacelet me be ready always to give an answer for the hope that lies within me (1 Pet 3:15). Let me not be ashamed of the Gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to every one who believes (Rom 1:16)

- I take up the shield of faith whereby I am able to quench the fiery darts of the evil one.

- I put on the helmet of salvation for You are my God and my King.

- I take up the sword of the Spirit, the word of Godfor Your word is sharper than any two edged sword (Heb 4:12) and Your word will not fail (Luke 21:33).

- I pray for all the saintscontinuing instant in prayer (Rom 12:12). [If] My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land. (2Ch 7:14)

How I Relate to My Wife

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her…. So husbands ought also to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself…  FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER AND SHALL BE JOINED TO HIS WIFE, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH Eph 5:25,28, 31

You husbands in the same way, live with [your wives] in an understanding way, as with someone weaker, since she is a woman; and show her honor as a fellow heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered. 1Pe 3:7

But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. 1Ti 5:8

What I Look At

I make a covenant with my eyes that I will not look lustfully on a woman.         Job 31:1

What I Fear

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:6,7

What I Think About

Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. Phil 4:8

What I Consume

And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit Eph 5:18

What’s First

But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Mt 6:33

How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping [it] according to Your word. With all my heart I have sought You; Do not let me wander from Your commandments. Your word I have treasured in my heart, That I may not sin against You. Ps 119:9-11

 Be a Faithful Man

The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. Suffer hardship with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No soldier in active service entangles himself in the affairs of everyday life, so that he may please the one who enlisted him as a soldier. Also if anyone competes as an athlete, he does not win the prize unless he competes according to the rules. The hard-working farmer ought to be the first to receive his share of the crops. 2Ti 2:2-6

The Gospel

For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. After that He appeared to more than five hundred brethren at one time, most of whom remain until now. 1Co 15:3-6

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Rom 3:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Rom 6:23

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Rom 5:8

For "WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED." Rom 10:13
